Alaska State Troopers arrested a 62-year-old Haines man in Craig last week for allegedly selling methamphetamine last fall.

The man was being investigated by the FBI, which issued a federal arrest warrant for his arrest. A grand jury indictment states that the man sold more than 50 grams of methamphetamine in Alaska last fall.

“As part of an FBI investigation, (the man) was arrested on one count of drug conspiracy, pursuant to a federal indictment filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska,” FBI spokesperson Chloe Martin said.

The FBI notified State Troopers on Friday that the Haines resident was on Prince of Wales Island. He was held in Craig’s jail and is pending transfer to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

He will be arraigned on Dec. 9 in Juneau.
