We recently had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting Haines to settle my dear brother’s estate. We would like to thank all of those who expressed their love and sympathy for the loss of Ky Irish and all of the help we received while we were there. Of particular standout, we would like to thank Pam, Jan, Jane, Bill, Rusty and Miranda for their hospitality and support during these difficult times.
Ky was a kind, gentle, caring individual who sacrificed so much to ensure happiness for those who needed or wanted it. His skills and craftsmanship spoke volumes and was a true testament to his very nature.
Ky grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and left shortly thereafter to pursue a carefree life with no obligations to society or duties inconsistent with his attitude and lifestyle. After several stops in Colorado and Montana, Ky made it to Anchorage before finally settling in your wonderful town of Haines. As he grew older, the harsh winters were too much for him and he decided to spend some time in the Philippines with his fiancé Leona. Ky passed from colon cancer shortly after arriving there in October 2019.
Again, a heartfelt thank you to all of those who knew, cared for and helped Ky in his difficult times. We will certainly miss his monthly phone calls and occasional letters.
