Local voting is on my mind. Having thought about what would make a good assembly/mayor combination, I finally decided who I will vote for. The leadership of our officials needs fresh ideas, ensure civility, and new perspectives. For this I am voting for Doug Olerud. Clear choice. For assembly I am voting for Caitie Kirby, Helen Alten, and Carol Tuynman. We need these people for diversity of thought and experience. And I believe they will elevate the level of civility in the assembly. “But wait,” you ask, “There are four seats open!” I don’t think any of the other candidates running will bring anything new or fresh, so I won’t vote for the fourth seat. Having been on the assembly for three years, I really think we need these people to help freshen up the leadership of our borough. Join me in supporting these candidates.

PS: I am also supporting taking money from the permanent fund to pay the school debt

payments for this year. We need this money or severe cuts will be proposed in other areas

that we don’t want.
