Haines Friends of Recycling thanks our community for recycling while hunkered down for COVID.  Please welcome Bo Dunn, joining Jeremy Settem to keep the Center on Small Tracts Rd. functioning!  Regular Center staff hours remain Th-F 9-12 & Sat 10-2, with 24/7 free recycling drop-off.  All PO boxes recently received our annual flyer about events, what recyclables we take, and a membership form. Please note these important updates & check out our new signs (thanks to a CVCF grant)!

Fish Net Recycling Postponed

Fish net collection for May 4 is cancelled because of late snow & COVID. Stay tuned for info on June-Sept 1st-Saturday-of-the-month net collections. Remember: no lead, cork or weed lines, & no hangings!

Changes at the Recycling Center

Please note low-grade paper is no longer recyclable and the bins are gone. The plastic bins are moved to the shelter.  Please bring sorted white paper, newspaper, & cardboard to the Center.  Compost, burn, or take low-grade paper to the dump.  Cancel catalogs to reduce what you receive.

No scrap metal collection is planned for 2020. We still accept refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, & stoves for a fee. E-waste is currently scheduled for June 5-6.

COVID Support

The building and Scrapbox store are closed to the public until further notice. Please use outside recycling bins, wear gloves, & BYO hand sanitizer to use after depositing recyclables.
