The Haines Farmers Market’s mission is to provide a venue for local farmers, horticulturists, artisans, and crafters to sell their goods in the Haines community. The mission of the Alaska Farmers Market Association is to support and promote vibrant and sustainable farmers markets throughout Alaska.
The Alaska Farmers Market Association with parent organization Cook Inletkeeper awarded the Haines Farmers Market a $1,100.00 grant to support our local market. With this funding, the Haines Farmers Market purchased ads with KHNS radio and Chilkat Valley News, organized a Market Chef demonstration with chef Travis Kukull at the special August 2 First Friday Market, and purchased feather flag signs. 80% of funds were spent right here in Haines.
