A caller asked police to perform a welfare check on a Deishu Drive resident. Police responded and found the woman was fine.
A Cathedral View Drive resident reported a bear got in his truck bed and took a cooler of fresh fish fillets from under the canopy. Wildlife troopers were advised. Another caller also reported a bear in the same area.
A caller reported a loud party and fireworks near 33 Mile Haines Highway. Troopers were notified.
Saturday, Aug. 30
A caller reported two kite boarders were stranded in the water near Pyramid Island. Police and ambulance crews responded. There were no injuries.
A person reported people getting too close to bears at the fish weir on the Chilkoot River. Wildlife troopers were advised.
A person reported a possible intoxicated driver on Small Tracts Road. Police responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A caller reported a possible chimney fire at a Fort Seward residence. Dispatch contacted the owner, who said he was only burning paper.
A caller reported a sow and cub on Sunshine Street had gotten into garbage and dog food the day before and the bears had come back even though attractants had been removed. Police were advised.
A person reported juveniles climbing on and breaking branches on an apple tree by the museum. An officer responded, found no damage, and told the juveniles to go home.

A Cathedral View Drive caller reported a bear had torn the door off a storage shed during the night. Wildlife troopers were advised.
A dump employee reported the gate had been unlocked and open when he arrived that morning. He also found a sow and two cubs inside the area. Wildlife troopers were advised.
A caller requested a welfare check on a possibly sick woman on Deishu Drive. An officer responded but the woman wasn’t home.
A caller reported a bike possibly stolen from the library.
A person reported an RV parked at the museum taking up the entire parking lot. An officer responded and determined it occupied only two spaces.
A person reported a man from Arizona making harassing phone calls. An officer contacted law enforcement in Arizona, who arrested the man on an outstanding warrant.
Seven callers reported fireworks on Mud Bay Road. An officer responded and found people lighting off fireworks.

A caller reported a sow and two cubs trying to access a garbage shed on Beach Road. Police were advised.
A caller reported scaring off two large brown bears at the Chilkoot Estates subdivision. Police were advised.
A person reported a man acting strange, talking to himself and waving his hands at a trailer park near 1 Mile Haines Highway. Police were advised.

A caller reported being repeatedly called by a political campaign. An officer met with the complainant and determined the calls were automated. The campaign office was notified.
A person reported a Honda generator falling off a work truck along the Haines Highway.

A Mud Bay Road caller reported a sow and two cubs had gotten into their unsecured garbage. Police warned the person about securing their garbage properly.
Two callers reported a sow and two cubs on Small Tracts Road. Police responded but the bears were gone.
A caller asked for help testing a cell phone to make sure it could call 911.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police reported they located a man they had asked police to look for at a local campground.
A caller reported a single-vehicle accident on a private driveway off Beach Road. An officer and fire crews responded and helped move the vehicle back to the road. There was minor damage to the vehicle and no injuries.
A caller reported two children on skateboards kicked his service dog. An officer responded and determined the report was unfounded.
