It looks like there is no way to influence the UA to open up the timber sale to locals. After years of full support from state funds the trustees are too impatient to listen to locals about how important sustainable industry is here. The focus is on the 12 days of funding that the UA will net from the sale. Nope, no way to stop it, it’s theirs, private property! For the state to continue its support for such an organization would be a violation of trust indeed. Let’s look to our legislators and ask them how many days of funding this betrayal of trust deserves.
