A caller reported water in the road. Water and sewer personnel were advised.
Saturday, July 16
A caller reported items such as a chainsaw, gas tank and can, a sheet metal cutter and snowshoes had been stolen from his garage on the west side of town. A case was initiated.
A caller reported a bear had gotten into the canopy of his truck on the west side of town and taken two garbage cans out of it.
A caller reported a juvenile was skateboarding into oncoming traffic. An officer was advised and talked to the skateboarder.
A caller reported a customer who would not follow the rules at a downtown RV park.
A caller reported a bear got into their vehicle on Mud Bay Road and ate a loaf of bread several days ago.
A caller reported the outside stairs were stolen from his RV when it was parked downtown or at the harbor.
A caller reported an assault by a family member on the west side of town. Officers responded and made an arrest for assault.
A fire was reported in a wooded area off Fourth Avenue. Fire crews were dispatched.

Friday, July 15
A person was reported to be in violation of their probation. An officer was advised and referred the issue to the district attorney’s office.
A caller reported their vehicle was stolen downtown. Later, the caller learned a person who thought the vehicle belonged to a friend had borrowed it accidentally.
A caller reported medication had been taken from their vehicle downtown. An officer was advised.
A caller reported juveniles riding their bikes into the roadway on the highway. An officer responded and advised the juveniles to be more cautious.
Thursday, July 14
A caller reported they had accidentally been locked out of their vehicle, and was given the number for a local garage.
A caller reported a vehicle without a muffler. An officer was advised and gave the driver a warning.
A caller reported a bear had gotten into her shed on Mud Bay Road the night before. A state trooper was advised.
A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Main Street. An officer responded and did not locate the vehicle.
A caller requested a message be relayed to a family member in Haines about a sick parent. The message was delivered.
A caller reported the theft of softball equipment from the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds. A case was initiated.
A caller reported receiving threatening messages on an answering machine. An officer was advised.
Wednesday, July 13
A person reported there was smoke coming from the trees near Fourth Avenue. An officer responded and found a campfire that had gotten out of control. Two campers in the area helped the officer put the fire out, and a fire crew also was dispatched.
A caller reported his bike was stolen from the Letnikof boat ramp. State troopers were advised.
A caller reported a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway and blocking traffic on Soap Suds Alley. An officer responded and determined the vehicle was parked legally.
A caller reported three vehicles parked illegally at the Port Chilkoot Dock.
A person requested a welfare check on a person who was in an intoxicated state. An officer responded and took the intoxicated person into custody for violating a court order not to consume alcohol.
Tuesday, July 12
A caller reported a person parked a vehicle in a handicap zone on Deishu Drive and had been warned not to park there. An officer was advised.
A caller reported a bear had gotten into his burn barrel on Small Tracts Road.
A caller reported an overdue aircraft. An officer responded to the airport and reported the plane had just landed.
A caller reported a horse loose on Small Tracts Road. An officer responded and returned the horse to its home.
A caller reported a juvenile was late getting home. An officer was advised, and the juvenile did return home.
There were 26 medical calls and one call about dogs.
