On behalf of the staff and board of directors of Lynn Canal Broadcasting/ KHNS Radio, I would like to say thank you so much to everyone who participated in this year’s annual Membership Drive. It was a record breaker, bringing in over $78,000!
As a nonprofit corporation we rely on local support to help leverage funding from outside sources. With the reduction in state funding in recent years, it is more important than ever that we show strong local support – which you have done again.
Our great staff did a superb job getting everything ready and keeping it all flowing smoothly. We are blessed to have such a wonderful crew.
I would especially like to thank businesses and individuals who made large donations, some as matches, which really helped get people excited about participating: Lucy Harrell, White Pass and Yukon Route, Lynn View Lodge, Harris Air, Howsers IGA, Alaska Tourism Industry Association, Cruise Line Industry Association, Oleruds Marketplace, Sockeye Cycle, First National Bank Alaska, Gary Forster, and Constantine Metal Resources Ltd.
I would also like to thank the local restaurants, cafes and businesses that donated food and drinks to keep us energized. And a shout-out to our dessert bakers and bidders – always an exciting addition to the fun. Thanks also to all of the volunteers who helped answer phones and perform other random necessities throughout the week.
