Around 1 a.m. on June 15, our beloved cat Tigger was attacked by two dogs roaming loose on Small Tracts Road. He did not survive. Our family would like to publicly thank Krystal Lloyd for chasing off the dogs and calling for help for our injured pet. We would also like to thank Tracy Mikowski and HARK for staying with him and comforting him as he died. We are heartbroken over this preventable tragedy. There is an epidemic of dogs running loose through the community of Haines. Please, if you own a dog, know where it is at all times, and just maybe, you’ll save another pet’s life.
