Jan Hill remains the Haines Borough’s best chance for a long-term, diversified economy. I have known Jan for almost 48 years and have total confidence in her experience, intellect and character. I served with Jan on the assembly for a number of years and was very impressed by her work ethic, honesty and genuine concern for the future of those living in the borough.
There is no one running for Mayor with Jan’s knowledge and experience. She fights hard against those who would limit economic development and opportunity in our borough. Those with young families really need to ask themselves what their future will look like without some serious changes in job opportunities. Mere seasonal service jobs in local bars and restaurants or rafting “guide” positions absolutely will not support a home and feed a family year-round. The state is in a budget crunch and you will not do very well on public assistance. Time for a reality check!
