To the organizers of the recall, am I correct— none of you are participating in the KHNS forum? Certainly, the recall process was both effort and fun for you, it’s happening like you want, now you won’t attend and answer questions publicly? Emily Files and Kyle Clayton will, no doubt, monitor the questions gracefully. You started this game, this is next, please keep playing.
On the other hand, maybe seeing the almost full-page Notice of Special Election in the newspaper has you wondering— did I make a mistake? Maybe an “oops” is called for. Maybe you’re feeling embarrassed. It’s alright, this happens. What you do when it happens is you call on your “better” self and you make it right. You show up. You explain yourself. Maybe you go so far as to apologize, maybe say I’m sorry to Tresham Gregg, Heather Lende and Tom Morphet.
Or maybe it’s no-to-questions and nothing-to-apologize-for, instead maybe you want to tell everyone what’s going on with you. You have hopes for this town. In my opinion, you clearly have fears for what will happen if and/or when these three remain in office. Please attend the panel and get those hopes and fears out on the table.
Organizers and signers don’t miss this opportunity to be open and real. If you’re behaving with heart and integrity, participate in the forum with a clear conscience. If you’re not, what you’re doing with our legitimately elected Assembly members and with our town is hurtful. Please stop it.
