Haines looks beautiful thanks to our school kids’ and staff’s special pickup effort to celebrate Earth Day on Friday, April 21. We hope that every one of you feels especially proud of your contribution to its beauty, and may continue to take such pride throughout the year!
We also wish to thank the poster-contest entrants for jump-starting enthusiasm and awareness for us; and the businesses and people who contributed prizes for the event: Alaska Rod’s, The Babbling Book, Howser’s IGA, Mountain Market, Skipping Stone Studio, Caroline’s Closet, Backcountry Outfitters, Miles Furniture, First National Bank, Scott at Sports Shop and The Parts Place. Finally, for giving the whole school ice cream: Olerud’s and Howser’s IGA. You made a joyous finale to the day for every student, and for a few lucky adults, too. Keep paying it forward.
