Haines Huts would like to thank everyone who helped make the first annual Koot to Kat alpine adventure race a great success.

Leslie Ross at the Haines Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Jessica Edwards at the Southeast Alaska State Fair provided encouragement and essential event-planning assistance; Andy Hedden shuttled racers in the Haines Rafting Company suburban and captured glorious moments at the start; Jeff Moskowitz produced an original course map for racers; Haines Search and Rescue stood by in case of emergency; and Fairweather Ski Works, SEABA, Alaska Sport Shop, Sockeye Cycle Co., Haines Brewing Company, Sarah J’s Espresso Shoppe, Alaska Mountain Guides, The Babbling Book, Mountain Market and Cafe, Body IQ, Foundroot and Port Chilkoot Distillery donated prizes.

Finally, thank you to all 25 racers; with your energy and determination, it won’t be long before we’ll be racing to the hut!
