A caller reported a motorist drove past a work zone where the caller was currently working. An officer spoke with the complainant.

A person reported a man staying in a cabin on private property without permission. The caller reported the person left when told to leave.

A caller reported loud, intoxicated people in a campground parking lot. Officers were advised.

A resident of a downtown apartment reported his door had been kicked in and items were stolen while he was away. An officer responded and initiated a burglary investigation.

A person reported an abandoned vehicle on River Road. Police issued a 72-hour towing warning, identified the current owner, and advised them to move the vehicle. The vehicle was moved the next day.

A person reported a minor traffic collision in the post office parking lot. An officer responded and the parties exchanged information.

A Kathleen Drive resident reported two brown bears tried to knock down his front door. An officer responded but was unable to locate the bears.

Tuesday, May 26

A caller reported an acquaintance took his truck from the ferry terminal without permission and refused to return it. Police initiated a theft case.

A caller reported a motorcycle illegally passed two vehicles on Main Street. An officer responded but couldn’t locate the motorcycle.

A Deishu Drive resident reported an ongoing problem with vehicles speeding through the subdivision. An officer was advised.

Traffic stops resulted in warnings for speed and for an expired learner’s permit.

Monday, May 25

A caller near 26 Mile Haines Highway reported loud explosions occurring every hour, with smaller explosions in between. Troopers were notified.

A caller near 6.5 Mile Haines Highway reported a man chased him and tried to hit him in the back of the head with a shovel. Police and troopers were advised.

A caller reported a possible domestic dispute on Major Road. The caller said he heard loud yelling and fighting sounds. Police responded and found people yelling and arguing, but no signs of assault.
