A Young Road resident reported he had backed into a fire hydrant and wanted it checked for damage. The fire chief was advised.
A caller reported a large boulder in the road near 6.5 Mile Lutak Road. Troopers and state road crews responded.
Dispatch received an alert from the National Weather Service in Juneau warning of thunder in areas south of Haines.
Sunday, May 17
A caller reported a possibly intoxicated person driving away from a Main Street bar. The caller provided a license plate number and reported the vehicle would be headed toward Small Tracts Road. An officer responded and located the unoccupied vehicle parked at a residence.
A Fort Seward area resident reported a road construction sign had been moved from Beach Road. The public works department was advised.
Saturday, May 16
A resident living near Mount Riley and FAA roads reported a large gray truck with no license plates speeding through the area. The truck cut off another vehicle and a cyclist, the caller said. An officer responded but couldn’t locate the vehicle.
Friday, May 15
A person stopped at the station to report illegal parking on Oslund Drive. An officer responded and determined the vehicle wasn’t illegally parked.
A caller reported a large, unattended burn off of Third Avenue. The fire chief responded and found it was a small fire with people sitting around it. He determined it wasn’t a danger.
A caller reported being assaulted at a Front Street bar. The caller didn’t need medical attention. Police responded, interviewed all parties and initiated an assault case.
Thursday, May 14
A caller reported people were washing out pickup truck dump beds at a car wash. An office responded and determined it was a civil matter because it was a business policy violation, not an ordinance violation.
A caller reported someone stole $500 worth of tools from his vehicle while it was parked on Portage Street. An officer responded and completed a report.
A downtown business owner reported a growing pothole on Second Avenue. State roads crews responded.
An anonymous caller reported someone had dumped garbage near 25 Mile Haines Highway. Troopers were advised.

A traffic stop resulted in a warning for taillights.
Tuesday, May 12
A caller reported a boat was leaking gas at the Lutak boat launch. Troopers were advised and the fire chief responded.
A motorist reported a limping moose near 11 Mile Haines Highway and skid marks on the pavement. Troopers were advised.
