Kenneth Lemieux, 50, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass as part of a plea bargain. Charges of fourth-degree theft and fifth-degree vandalism were dismissed. Lemieux entered an apartment above the Quick Shop on the evening of June 11. A person staying at the apartment woke up and found him eating an ice cream bar and some restaurant take-home food, which had been stored in the refrigerator. He was also smoking, and a lit cigarette had burned a hole in a board. Police arrested Lemeiux the next day. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

He also pleaded guilty to committing the same offense on the Haines Highway on May 14 in violation of his probation for the March 24 offense. He was fined $650.

Thomas Monroe III, 59, pleaded guilty on a plea bargain for reckless driving on the Haines Highway. The original charge was drunk driving. Police arrested him going 66 mph in a 55mph zone. Carl Taylor, 74, was fined $3,000 for drunk driving on May 8, and fined another $150 for violating a previous no-alcohol order two days later. On the morning of May 8, he drove up behind a police car on Fourth Avenue, honked his horn several times and passed the officer on the right. The officer stopped Taylor, who failed the field sobriety tests. He resisted being put in the police car. Handcuffed behind his back, he slipped his arms under his leg to put his cuffed hands in front of his body. Police had to wrestle him to re-cuff him behind his back. His blood alcohol level significantly exceeded the state limit. On May 10, Taylor called police to his home about a yelling girl. When an officer arrived, Taylor admitted he had been drinking in violation of a previous court order.
