Police served two protection order packets on a Haines resident.
An out-of-state caller reported a person with a criminal background had moved to Haines. An officer checked the allegation and found it wasn’t substantiated.
A person reported a vehicle illegally parked and using electricity without permission at a state facility. Officers were advised and sent a letter to the owner about the abandoned vehicle, with notification that it was subject to towing.
Sunday, May 10
People reported a possible domestic assault. An officer responded and met with the reporting parties, but the alleged victim had fled. An investigation and subsequent contact with the alleged victim determined no assault had occurred.
A motorist reported a dead bear cub on the side of the road near 15 Mile Haines Highway. Wildlife troopers were advised.
A person reported a large SUV driving erratically through the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds. The caller couldn’t provide any identifying details of the vehicle. An officer was advised.
Saturday, May 9
A person reported a collision on private property near the intersection of Second Avenue and Union Street. An officer responded and gave the parties required paperwork.
A Tower Road resident reported someone he knew had stopped in front of his house and yelled profanities at him. He said he only wanted police to document the incident.
A caller reported an injured raven in the area of Fourth Avenue and Dalton Street. The American Bald Eagle Foundation was advised.
Friday, May 8
A caller near Third Avenue and Union Street reported two young moose in the area. The caller was concerned for young children playing outside. An officer responded and found the moose, but no children playing in the area.
A Piedad Road resident reported a speeding commercial vehicle on the Haines Highway headed toward town. An officer responded but was unable to locate the truck.
A caller in the area of Oceanview Drive and Lutak Road reported seeing a person driving a car who did not have a license. An officer and trooper responded, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
An Allen Road resident reported his backpack was taken from the back doorway of a Main Street business. The resident said the man who took it was wearing coveralls and driving a blue pickup.
Thursday, May 7
A traffic stop resulted in a warning for speeding.
Wednesday, May 6
A 911 caller reported a man had climbed onto the balcony of her Main Street residence and attempted to come in her window. The man then ran by her bedroom window and fled the scene. An officer responded and initiated a case for stalking. The alleged suspect was contacted by police just prior to the 911 call.
A property manager at the Chilkoot Indian Association subdivision reported illegal dumping at a dumpster on the property. An officer met with the manager, who decided not to press charges.
A Highland Estates resident reported a neighbor had cut some trees on his property while he was out of town. An officer met with the caller, who asked for the incident to be documented.
A traffic stop resulted in a warning for speeding.

A Muncaster Road resident reported a possible water main leak. Public Works responded.
