Thanks for the great article on the Chilkat Valley Preschool project. However, I would like to clarify that I am not the only one “handling the fundraising and grant applications for the preschool’s Steering Committee.” It’s a team effort. The CVP Building Project Steering Committee consists of diverse, hard-working individuals including Sara Chapell, Steve and JoAnn Cunningham, Lexie DeWitt, Melissa Ganey, Alissa Henry, Renee Hoffman, Sierra Jimenez, and until recently Valery McCandless and Susan Tandy. Everyone is helping raise the needed money and with other necessary tasks, and many are helping with preparing and submitting grants.
The committee is a great example of how a group of people working together can make a difference in community life. As noted in your article, more than half of the dollars have been raised to date and work on grants and fundraising is ongoing. And, right now, we are looking for new members to fill two vacancies.
