Sunday, Aug. 14

A citizen dropped off a pair of glasses found near the Port Chilkoot Dock.

A caller reported two loose horses near 2 Mile Haines Highway. The owners were notified.

A person reported two guests had stolen a large amount of money. Police are investigating.

Saturday, Aug. 13

A Comstock Road resident asked for information regarding an emergency restraining order. An officer was advised.

A caller reported a drunken man tried to enter an Allen Road home. Police attempted to locate the man.

An apartment manager reported a drunken man sleeping in the hallway of a Deishu Drive apartment complex. Police responded and told the man to leave.

A caller reported a visitor took $120 in cash. Police are investigating.

A caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on a Haines resident. The caller didn’t indicate there was any reason to believe the person was in harm’s way.

A person reported receiving a harassing phone call from someone pretending to be a Haines Police officer.

Friday, Aug. 12

A Main Street business owner reported an unattended vehicle had been parked at a business overnight. The owner was contacted and advised to move the vehicle.

Police responded to a Main Street vehicle accident.

Thursday, Aug. 11

A caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on a male hitchhiker on the Haines Highway. An officer was advised.

A caller reported she believed people were trying to scam Haines residents. Police are investigating.

A caller reported a possibly injured bald eagle hanging from a power line near Front Street. Police responded. The eagle flew away.

A caller reported fireworks or gunshots in the Cathedral View subdivision. Police responded but were unable to locate the source of the sound.

A Union Street resident reported her kitten was having difficulty breathing and wasn’t moving. The Haines Animal Rescue Kennel was contacted.

A Main Street business owner reported a vehicle drove by multiple times playing loud music. Police warned the driver.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

A caller reported a camera lost around Chilkoot Lake.

Police served a 20-day domestic violence protective order on a St. James Place resident.

Police assisted at the border crossing.

An officer contacted a juvenile who appeared to be carrying a sword in the Sawmill Creek Road area.

An officer received a report of a missing juvenile. Officers located the juvenile at the library and met with a guardian.

A caller reported a bear attractant around Sawmill Road. Officers were advised.

A caller reported someone firing an automatic rifle in the Eagle Bluff area. Troopers were advised.

A person reported a crooked stop sign near Fifth Avenue and Dalton Street. Public Works was advised.

An FAA Road business reported a credit card had been left at their office.

An officer contacted a vehicle owner parked the wrong way on Main Street and told them to move their vehicle.
