Sunday, July 31

A caller reported intoxicated people across from the Small Boat Harbor who appeared to be having trouble walking. An officer was advised.

Two callers reported an intoxicated man on the roadside of Second Avenue. One caller asked police to conduct a welfare check on the man. Police responded and took the man to a local restaurant for food and coffee.

A caller reported child custody issues. Dispatch told the caller to contact the court as the issue was a civil matter.

A person reported a porcupine in her alley. Dispatch told the woman to leave the porcupine alone and keep her dogs away.

A caller reported his backpack was taken from Tlingit Park.

A caller reported a man yelling and waving his arms in the post office parking lot. Police responded and warned the man for disorderly conduct.

Friday, July 29

A caller reported a structure fire on Mud Bay Road. The Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded. An outbuilding burned to the ground.

A resident reported receiving a harassing phone call. An officer was advised.

A caller reported a fire on Beach Road. The Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded. A man was taken to the clinic for burns.

A person reported campers drinking alcohol at Tlingit Park. Police responded and found the campers were not breaking laws.

Officers warned people on Main Street for drinking alcohol.

An officer warned a Small Tracts Road resident for shooting fireworks.

A caller reported a small child playing in the road near Tlingit Park. Police responded and met with the parents, who said they would provide better supervision.

A Fourth Avenue resident asked for help retrieving keys from inside a locked vehicle.

Thursday, July 28

Police received two warrants to serve on Haines residents.

A state agency employee asked police to conduct a welfare check on a person staying in a Second Avenue motel. Police responded and found the person was fine.

A caller reported two people riding possibly stolen bikes down Small Tracts Road. Police were unable to locate the cyclists.

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Haines man for driving with a revoked license.

A person reported a fight between a man and a woman in a pickup truck. An officer was advised.

A caller reported a man yelling downtown. An officer was advised.

A person reported being harassed at an apartment building. An officer was advised.

A caller reported a Haines resident driving without a valid license. Officers were advised.

A caller reported a theft, but investigation revealed the report was unfounded.

Tuesday, July 26

A person reported an unsecured residence in the Young Road area. Police responded and contacted the home owner.

A caller reported a speed limit sign missing from 3 Mile Lutak Road. DOT was notified.

A caller reported a civil disagreement regarding the sale of a vehicle. Dispatch referred the caller to the court.

An officer contacted a man who was yelling and raising his fists in the Second Avenue area. The man was warned for disorderly conduct.
