A friend passed on a copy of your July 14 CVN editorial thinking that I might get a chuckle out of it. I must say that I think that is probably the most disgusting thing that you have done since coming to Haines, with the possible exception of ripping off the taxpayers with your apartment eviction saga years ago.

Your criticism of Bill Seward, David Sosa and Robert Venables only pointed out your lack of knowledge of the basic principles of organizational management. To criticize a manager for wanting to know what his subordinates do all day, or the waste involved in the Haines Animal Rescue Kennel or Mosquito Lake School, or “popping up at tea parties around town, mingling and exchanging pleasantries” all show managers concerned with what is best for the community and taxpayers. As for dropping in on Darsie Culbeck and Brad Ryan while representing the borough, that was long overdue.

When we first came to Haines about 20 years ago, it was a solid, active, caring community. It is heartbreaking to see what you and your hippie ilk have done to it in such a short time. If by chance you are the last one to leave, please turn out the lights.
