A woman came to the station to report a moose on the airport runway. Troopers were advised.

A 911 caller reported a smoke alarm going off because of a burnt pan in the kitchen of another apartment unit. Dispatch contacted the manager, who asked police to conduct a welfare check on the resident of the other apartment unit.

A man reported broken wine bottles on the Haines Highway. An officer responded and located a toy gun, which he removed from the road.

Saturday, Feb. 27

A business reported an intoxicated man left their establishment after refusing to relinquish his keys. Officers tried to locate the vehicle.

A person asked for help blocking an individual from his Facebook account. Dispatch provided instructions to the caller.

A 911 caller reported someone was scaring her and yelling profanities. Officers responded and spoke with both parties.

Friday, Feb. 26

A 911 caller reported a rockslide in the outbound lane of Lutak Road near the ferry terminal. State road crews were advised of the slide.

A person asked police to perform a welfare check on an elderly man who left a pan burning on a stove. Police found the man was intoxicated but otherwise healthy.

A caller on Mathias Avenue asked police to pick up marijuana plants that a tenant had left on the property. Police took possession of the item, which turned out to be vegetable matter.

Police responded to a noise disturbance call and arrested a 50-year-old Haines man for violating a stalking protective order. The man, who was intoxicated, was lodged at the jail.

Thursday, Feb. 25

A caller asked for information regarding child custody. He was referred to the court.

A 911 call regarding trespassing resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old male for fourth-degree domestic violence assault. The man was lodged at the jail pending arraignment.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

A caller reported a woman sleeping in an apartment complex laundry room on Main Street. Police responded and the woman left to stay at a friend’s home.

A caller on Mud Bay Road reported someone had used his home to sleep in without permission while he was gone on vacation. The spare key was also missing. An officer was advised.

Police served a protective order on a Haines woman.

A caller reported someone broke into a neighbor’s home while the neighbor was away. Police investigated and found it was a housesitter who was authorized to be there.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

A woman reported she had been assaulted by another woman at a local bar. Police investigated and initiated a case.
