A caller reported the sewer line backing up on FAA Road behind Fort Seward. Public works employees were advised.
A caller who sought help with a vehicle lockout was provided information for assistance.
Two callers on Small Tracts reported fireworks sounding off in the area for more than two hours. Police were unable to hear or locate the fireworks. Police later issued warnings to a woman for shooting off fireworks on Gruening and Major roads.
An anonymous caller reported loud yelling and music coming from a vehicle in an RV park on Front Street. Police responded and made contact with two individuals, who were told to leave.
Wednesday, Dec. 30
A caller reported about two gallons of fuel spilled when a pump at a card-lock gas station on Haines Highway failed to turn off automatically after a tank filled. The responsible business was advised.
A man sought help with lodging for the night. The Haines Ministerial Association provided a room at a local motel.
Tuesday, Dec. 29
A man and woman came to the police station to report a violation of a protective order. An officer was advised.
A man reported a person at a local business on Haines Highway was locked out of their vehicle. Dispatch advised the man to contact an auto parts store for help unlocking the vehicle.
A woman called to report icy roads on Small Tracts Road. Dispatch advised state road crews.
A man called to report a possible domestic violence situation in town. Dispatch advised an officer who spoke with the people involved.
A man called to report an open door at a business off off Soap Suds Alley. An officer responded and determined the building was secure.
Monday, Dec. 28
A 911 call was received from an individual in Juneau reporting a single vehicle accident. Dispatch advised Juneau Police Department which said were responders en route to the scene.
A caller reported an abandoned vehicle at a business parking lot on Third Avenue. An officer placed a parking warning notice on the vehicle.
A protective order was received from the courts and served on a local man.

Dispatch received a 911 call from a man on Haines Highway who reported his vehicle sliding off of the road and into a ditch. The man said he and his mother were not injured but needed a tow. Dispatch advised an officer, troopers and a tow company. The man and his mother were helped out of the vehicle and taken to a local hotel.
Multiple callers reported a young moose in the roadway at 24.5 Mile Haines Highway that was injured and unable to stand. Dispatch advised state troopers.
A Union Street resident said he’d been assaulted by a neighbor but was afraid the neighbor could overhear his conversation with police. An officer responded, spoke to both parties, and started an investigation.
Sunday, Dec. 27
An officer advised Dispatch that they would be conducting a welfare check on a vehicle parked on the side of the Haines Highway with its hazard lights on. Everything appeared to be okay.
A local man and woman came to the department to report their child was being harassed. An officer spoke with the family.
A caller who was housesitting reported a possible chimney fire at 6.5 Mile Mud Bay Road. There were no visible flames or smoke but the chimney thermometer read very high. An officer and trooper responded. While dispatch was on the phone with the caller, the fire alarm went off. The caller was able to snuff out the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters.
A caller reported a snowmachine being driven excessively fast on Comstock Road. An officer responded but was unable to make contact with the sled’s driver.
Saturday, Dec. 26
A caller requested a welfare check on a client who was unexpectedly not at their Mathias Avenue home. Police determined the client had gone to Juneau to spend Christmas with family.
A search and rescue was conducted on Mount Ripinsky’s Piedad Trail to find two snowboarders who called to report that they had fallen into a ravine and were stuck. Rescue teams met up with the pair, who had gotten themselves out of the ravine.
A caller reported a violation of custody visitation rights. The caller was advised to contact the local magistrate during business hours.

A caller on Mathias Avenue reported someone in her basement, but she did not want a police response. The caller also said there were footprints in the snow and reported knowing the whereabouts of a person of interest.
A repeat caller from South Dakota was redirected to their local law enforcement regarding a court issue.
Wednesday, Dec. 23
Police served a protective order on a Haines man.
A caller reported having cleared the northbound lane of a fallen tree at 32 Mile Haines Highway. Troopers were advised.
A juvenile was warned about riding a snowmachine in the townsite without proper registration. The juvenile was given a map and information on snowmachine regulations within the townsite.
A California man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Beach Road and jailed. His dog was lodged at Haines Animal Rescue Kennel.

An anonymous caller reported misconduct involving a controlled substance. An officer was advised.
A caller reported receiving harassing phone calls. An officer was advised.
A caller reported two males stealing food from residents of Deishu Drive. An investigation was started.
An officer conducted a welfare check on a resident of a senior complex.
Monday, Dec. 21
A caller reported her vehicle stuck in a snow berm would be blocking traffic until she could get help. An officer responded to the area until the roadway was cleared.
An apartment resident with a restraining order against him from his neighbor asked police to contact the neighbor to push the reset button on his furnace. The man was advised to contact his landlord.
A caller reported snowmachines speeding on Fair Drive and through Chilkoot Estates subdivision. An officer responded to the area, but was unable to contact the riders.
Sunday, Dec. 20
An apartment resident reported hearing a loud boom from the upstairs unit and requested a welfare check on the upstairs neighbor. An officer was advised.
A caller reported theft of a cell phone. An officer attempted to trace a text sent by the phone, but it tracked to a disposable phone with a New Mexico area code.
A Union Street resident reported acquaintances “mooned” and yelled obscenities at him. An officer responded.
Saturday, Dec. 19
A report of an overdue rental car was received from Anchorage airport police. They said a person who had rented the vehicle reportedly is working in a remote location in Haines and that the vehicle would be reported as stolen.
A case was initiated for a violation of conditions of release for a man seen drinking alcohol in a local establishment while on conditions to not drink.
Friday, Dec. 18
A 911 call was received from Juneau. Juneau police were advised of the call and information about the glitch was passed to agencies.
A theft of heating oil was reported at a Haines Highway location. Police investigated.
A man reported falling from a cliff into a creek near 6 Mile Haines Highway, possibly breaking a leg. Troopers, police and an ambulance responded. The man was taken to the clinic.
Thursday, Dec. 17
A caller reported a possible break-in at an apartment on Second Avenue and that someone had defecated on the floors of a residence. An officer was advised.
A caller reported a trespasser on Small Tracts Road.
A caller reported a dog in the road near the Port Chilkoot campground. An officer was unable to locate the dog.
A Canadian roadside assistance company sought information on getting assistance to a vehicle broken down on the Yukon Territory side of Haines Highway. It was advised to contact the Whitehorse RCMP.
Thursday, Dec. 16
A caller dialed 911 then hung up after seeking police help removing someone from an “area.” Police traced the call to a local address but were unable to locate anyone there.
A caller requested a resident be contacted so that they could supply their phone number, which the caller had lost. The resident was advised.
A caller requested a message be relayed to a responsible party regarding a building near Chilkoot Lake that appeared to have been broken into and was now locked from the inside. The caller said no one should be staying in the building. Police relayed the information to the responsible party.
A caller reported a homeless person was intoxicated and refused to leave a Deishu Drive residence. Police responded. Haines Ministerial Association provided lodging with the intent to provide more help in the morning.
A caller reported a possible burglary at a Vermiere Street residence, where a relative had been housesitting. A dog had been locked in the bathroom in the house and all lights were on. The caller said the house owner requested police check the home for a possible gun theft. Police responded to the house and found nothing out of order.
A caller reported an intoxicated female had fallen and sustained head injuries. Police and ambulance crew members responded and the woman was taken to the clinic.
Tuesday, Dec. 15
An apartment resident reported a neighboring resident yelling obscenities at him. An officer was advised.
School staff reported finding keys in the school parking lot.
A 911 call was received from a Juneau caller. Information was relayed to Juneau Police and AT&T was notified of the bounced call.
