The drawing and painting group at the Haines School on Monday nights takes a holiday break, resuming 5:30 – 8:45 p.m. Jan. 11 in the art room. All skill levels are welcome to come and go during that time. It is not a class per se, but a group, sharing models. We have been drawing gestures and will continue in this vein for the first few January sessions. After that we will switch to a long pose each night, so that those who want to work in color will have a chance. We will continue throughout the school year as long as interest remains.
On June 20-24, 2016, I will once again host a Studio Incamminati portrait workshop at the ANB Hall. This year’s teacher will be JaFang Lu from Philadelphia. The method taught at the four-year school is so “user friendly” that everyone, even those who had hardly painted before, did some great work last summer of our model Tim Ackerman. Posters are around town and you can call me for more information, 766-2707.
Creative people in Haines like to claim we have the largest per capita number of artists. I would like to facilitate workshops for artists every summer, but in order for this to happen, locals have to participate. It may seem like a lot of money, but it is a lot less than many of the workshops out there, and you don’t have to travel or pay for a hotel. Please join us. Register at studioincamminati.org.
