A person reported suitcases near the entrance of Tlingit Park. Police retrieved them and contacted the owner to reclaim them.

An apartment manager reported an abandoned vehicle in a parking lot. Police provided information to have the vehicle towed.

A caller requested Haines Animal Rescue Kennel respond for a feline euthanasia. Police relayed the message to HARK.

A caller reported a single vehicle accident at 11 Mile Haines Highway with no injuries. Police and troopers were advised.

A person reported a reckless driver, but police were unable to locate the vehicle.

Sunday, Nov. 22

A 911 caller reported a non-emergency dental problem. He was advised to call the SEARHC clinic.

Saturday, Nov. 21

A Beach Road caller reported a power outage. Alaska Power and Telephone responded and found a fallen tree on the power line. The company advised the power would be out until the tree was removed and the line fixed.

Friday, Nov. 20

A caller reported her vehicle broken down near the intersection of Main Street and the Haines Highway. The vehicle wasn’t blocking the road and the caller was getting help to move it. Police were advised.

A person turned in a backpack, gloves, a water bottle and jacket found at the Small Boat Harbor.

A caller reported a vehicle slid into a ditch four miles out the Porcupine Road. Troopers were advised.

A man came to the station after allegedly being assaulted. He sustained trauma to his face. The man spoke to police and was transported to the clinic via ambulance.

A person reported a sailboat in the Small Boat Harbor appeared to be sinking. The harbormaster investigated and determined everything appeared to be fine. The boat’s owner was contacted.

A caller reported her friend’s car was inoperable and parked in the Small Boat Harbor parking lot. She said it would be moved the next day.

A woman reported that while she was parked in a boarding lane at the ferry terminal, a school bus turned and hit the back of her car, causing extensive damage. The driver was apparently unaware he had hit the vehicle. The woman said she intended to make contact with the school bus company.

Thursday, Nov. 19

A dog bite was reported to the clinic. The animal was destroyed by the owner. Police were advised.

A caller reported receiving a fraudulent phone call from someone claiming to represent the IRS. The scammer said the IRS would be filing a lawsuit against the caller.

A person reported a trailer hitch was stolen from her vehicle in the Fort Seward area. Police were advised.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

A caller reported trees overhanging Lutak Road. State road crews were advised.

A man was taken into protective custody under advisement of medical staff.

A Mathias Avenue caller reported tracks in the snow from potential prowlers who keep making scraping sounds on the side of her residence.

A caller reported household items in the road near 12.5 Mile Haines Highway. The caller removed some of the items. Troopers were advised.

Tuesday, Nov. 17

A domestic violence protective order was served in court on a Haines resident.

A property owner notified police that he gave a tenant a 10-day notice to vacate the premises and remove all of his property.
