Haines Borough interim police chief Robert Griffiths will hold a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 in the Chilkat Center lobby.
Griffiths will discuss the $22,000 Russell Consulting police department study that determined the department has been operating below standards for years.
“This will not be a rehash of the report, but rather an open progress report on how far we’ve come and what our priorities are in addressing the remaining issues,” he said.
A PowerPoint presentation will include “before and after” photos to show the progress that has been made, Griffiths said.
The public is encouraged to ask questions, he said.
The meeting is part of the borough’s series of departmental town hall meetings designed to promote community dialogue and a sense of open government, Griffiths said.
