Peter J. Wool, 44, was sentenced May 2 after pleading guilty to driving with a revoked license on Nov. 3, 2012. An officer pulled Wool over after dispatch confirmed his license was revoked.
He was sentenced to 20 days in jail, $50 in fees and 90 days of additional license revocation.
Wool was also sentenced May 2 after pleading guilty to failure to register as a sex offender on Feb. 22, 2013. Wool failed to register as a sex offender after moving to Juneau. He was sentenced to 35 days in jail, $50 in fees and two
years’ probation.
Matthew Richter, 43, was sentenced April 8 after pleading guilty to assault in the fourth degree on March 22. A third party called to report Richter was in an argument with his partner, and that he had heard Richter threatening the victim. The caller also heard the victim crying and screaming, “Stop hitting me” and “Get your hands off me.” Officers arrived and interviewed both parties. Both observed a substantial amount of dried blood on the victim’s hair
and face, and that the victim’s face and lip were red and swollen.
Richter was sentenced to 40 days in jail, $50 in fees, restitution payments, two years’ probation, an order to provide a DNA sample if requested by an officer on the state’s behalf, and an order to complete a counseling program.
Henry Phillips, 56, was sentenced April 11 after pleading guilty to driving with a revoked license on Nov. 16. An officer pulled Phillips over on Chilkoot Road and confirmed Phillips’ Washington license was revoked.
Phillips was sentenced to a $500 fine, 80 hours of community service, one year probation, $50 in fees, and 90 days of additional license revocation.
Nicholas Oddo, 32, was sentenced March 14 after pleading guilty to driving without a valid license and failure to provide proof of insurance on Feb. 28.
Officers observed Oddo driving and knew his Nevada license had been suspended since 2009. When pulled over, Oddo confided he did not have insurance. Oddo was sentenced to $750 in fines and $60 in fees.
Charles C. Baltzell, 21, was sentenced March 26 after pleading guilty to theft in the fourth degree on Jan. 12. An
individual reported Baltzell stole a Kindle after moving out of a residence and that he had tried to sell it. Baltzell went to the department the following day and told police he had tried to sell the Kindle because the roommate owed him money. Baltzell was sentenced to pay restitution, $50 in fees, 24 hours of community service, and one year probation.
Morgan Knutson, 44, was sentenced May 14 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence on Feb. 13. An officer saw two trucks parked near an apartment complex and several individuals yelling at one another.
One of the men said Knutson had been following him around town in his truck and had hit the back
of his truck several times. The officer contacted Knutson, who “could barely form a sentence” and was having trouble keeping his balance. Knutson failed several field sobriety tests. After being arrested and transported
to the jail, Knutson became agitated and threatened to burn the officer’s home down multiple times. Knutson was sentenced to $6,000 in fines, $125 in fees, complete a substance abuse treatment program, four years’ probation, pay restitution, 18 months of driving with an ignition interlock device, and three years of license revocation.
