The Children’s Reading Foundation of Haines brings to you a fun new program, “Play With Purpose.” This gathering will bring together parents with their children ages up to 5 years, to move, stretch, dance, and make projects to take home. These young years are prime time for a child’s brain development. Parents engaging with their children in purposeful play helps them build positive relationships, fine and large motor skills, a love of literature, and much more. Investing time and energy with the young people of our community is one of the wisest investments we can make. These events will take place free of charge, thanks to generous funding from the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation. It all starts 10 a.m. Feb. 7 at the Head Start building for parents with their children up to 2 years, and 11:30 a.m. for parents with children aged 3 to 5. For more information, call 314-0335, and come play with us!
