Thank you to all who have supported Mosquito Lake School. This is an exciting time for everyone who is interested in the future of the school possibly reopening in the fall. Some of you may or may not know how wonderful and important this small school has been to Haines residents – especially in the upper valley. Friends of Mosquito Lake School and Community Center has been meeting on a regular basis, discussing ideas and moving forward so that this facility may once again be used for promoting mental and physical health, education and community strength. Benefits to students attending Mosquito Lake School include a low teacher-to-student ratio and the potential for learning opportunities including field trips to a local wildlife park, learning a foreign language, and use of the greenhouse for gardening.
