It seems the Chilkoot Indian Association is always in turmoil. For the record, most of us could care less anymore. We never know what they’re up to. We have yet to see our tribe do something good for our people. We have no culture or anything to do to teach what we know. Our elders would be ashamed of you.
I ask this: Do you use your by-laws and Robert’s Rules of Order? Just to let you know, also, you cannot be a member of the tribal council and be an employee of the tribe. It is a conflict of interest. This is so. I have no faith in any of you. Your stipulations to be a council member are out of line. Some others may want to run for office and prove their worth. Every year it’s the same.
All members have a voice and the right to run for council member, as you do. It’s the same with jobs with the tribe: No member-hire, only non-Native and friends of the council. I think we should fire all of them or we lose. Our tribe, ANB and ANS were created for our people.
