As my time as Haines superintendent comes to an end I want to thank you for a wonderful seven years.

I’ve never forgotten whom I serve first – our students. Being superintendent is about service and it is by serving their success that I’ve been successful. I’ll miss our students and the graduates from the last seven years.

Our staff directly contributes to the success of students every day. They have challenging jobs and I know they feel responsible to help every student reach their potential. Their efforts have been rewarded with notable achievements recognized at the state and national levels. I know they will continue to work hard for our students.

I’ve had a great school board the entire time I’ve been here. One thing that distinguishes our board is that members bring a strong commitment to student achievement. Their involvement and ability to come together for the benefit of our students is key to the accomplishments we’ve realized.

I want to thank the borough for the funding they give each year that helps maintain the important programs and activities that mean so much to our students. Many residents give generously of their time to work with our students. A young person’s chances for success are greatly influenced by the number of adults who are in their lives, serving as positive role models. Haines has a whole community willing to support and work with our youth.

It has been a great honor for me to serve in Haines.
