Boulders rolled into the Haines Highway just west of 9 Mile when a cliff face collapsed around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Debris across the road blocked traffic for about a half hour. “There were some pretty big rocks,” said Haines Department of Transportation foreman Matt Boron. “It’s indicative of what can happen at any time along the road. That’s why we want to get the road away from the cliff.”
