After four of our local seniors crashed into the post office, I am always so relieved to hear when any senior citizens in this town relinquished the driving licenses that family members have coaxed them out of, or that they, themselves, voluntarily gave up. We have so many walkers and bikers in this town and I feel that certain drivers of advanced age should be considered as “007 – a license to kill.”

A friend of mine told me that in his home state, at age 70 a driver must take a test once a year; at age 75, twice a year; and at age 80, turn in their driver’s license automatically. I wish we had such provisions in this town.

I, myself, am of an advanced age and tore my license in half voluntarily when I realized I might be putting people in danger.
