Professional snowboarder Mike Basich of Lake Tahoe, Calif. was downtown this week shopping for hardware for his homemade trailer house. He’ll be making extreme snowboarding films here and last visited about 10 years ago. His wheeled house keeps him from getting homesick, he said. The 16-foot-long wannigan features a loft, a kitchen and a pot-bellied stove. Basich’s dog Summit is pictured at left.
