We would like to publicly express our gratitude and sense of indebtedness to the many people who helped or offered support after our boat, Toby, sank in the harbor Monday morning. Thanks to Phil Benner, Mark Allen and Daymond Hoffman for their rapid and effective response to contain and limit the fuel spill and their long hours spent helping to raise the vessel. Thanks to Kerry Town for the toughest and most miserably cold and tiring of the work. Kerry was in the water diving for many hours, and it couldn’t have been done without him. Also, thanks to good friends like Robert Chadwell and Stuart Dewitt, who volunteered hours of their own time to help. Finally, thanks to all the good folks who have offered condolences, advice and support. We are strongly reminded of the generous and stout character of our community.
