A caller requested police assistance in asking people not to push snow into their rose bushes downtown.

Sunday, Feb. 27

A caller reported a robe was missing from a closet at the Chilkat Center.

A caller reported a drunk driver. An officer responded and arrested the person at 3 Mile Haines Highway.

A caller reported a domestic dispute at their downtown apartment. An officer responded, and one person in the dispute voluntarily left the scene.

Saturday, Feb. 26

An officer responded after a caller reported it appeared someone tried to break into the Chilkat Center as evidenced by damage to a door.

A caller requested a trooper to assist her in leaving her house in the Mosquito Lake area because she had been in an argument with her spouse.

Friday, Feb. 25

A caller requested an officer at the school for a student who appeared to have been drinking. An officer responded, but the student had left.

Officers were advised of a person in town who had behaved erratically the previous day and had complained about federal education policies.

A caller reported unusual footprints around their home that went under the bedroom window. Police said the footprints were connected with an earlier accident on upper Young Road when officers were trying to locate the driver.

Thursday, Feb. 24

A caller requested a welfare check on a person. The caller located the person a few minutes later.

A Beach Road caller reported a chimney fire they were able to put out by closing dampers, but they wanted a firefighter to respond to make sure it was completely out.

State troopers were advised of a call that a snowmachine and truck were stuck on Mosquito Lake Road, with the truck obstructing a lane.

An officer found a vehicle in the ditch by upper Young Road and attempted to find the driver. The driver was cited for reckless driving and for leaving the scene of an accident.

Wednesday, Feb. 23

A caller reported a vehicle parked in a handicap space downtown. An officer responded, and the driver had parked so young children could get out of the vehicle.

A person reported sharp rocks in the middle of Haines Highway between 4 Mile and 7 Mile.

Tuesday, Feb. 22

Troopers were advised of a call about an aggressive female moose with a calf on Mosquito Lake Road.

A caller reported snowmachines tailgating them and passing on the right side of the lane. An officer contacted the juvenile drivers and informed them of requirements for snowmachines on the roadway.

A caller reported a vehicle with a tail light out downtown. An officer was advised, but the vehicle was not located.

A caller reported a coyote near Deishu Drive.

There were 22 medical calls and three calls about dogs.
