Speaking from the perspective of Haines ex-pats, we would like to take a minute to let the Chilkat Valley know
that you are a wondrous place.
Haines will be forever indelible in our human experience. Life in the Chilkat Valley can prove formidable. Too often our popular culture allows affordances for humans to overcome challenging experiences. Our time in the Chilkat Valley reminded us of those skills necessary to overcome said challenges. With good friends everything that can bring a person down can be overcome. Haines has good friends in abundance. Good, strong, robust people that see you for who you are. The first question asked when meeting a new person is not “What do you do?” but rather, “What is your name?” Keep on, keeping on people of the Chilkat Valley. Know that each and every one of you casts a wide net.
