I recently attended a public session of “Talk Alaska” at the library, a variation on “Community Matters.” During the discussion, the group identified reasons why they love and live in Haines, and what is important to preserve. I was struck by how similar this group’s points were to those raised by the public in the comprehensive plan process. I would like to encourage all public-minded groups in our valley to consider adopting and acting upon at least one of…
