Don’t take your old computer to the dump.
Haines Friends of Recycling will hold its sixth annual electronics recycling event Friday and Saturday, an effort aimed at keeping toxic components from leaching into local waterways. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the recycling station at 1.5 Mile Small Tracts Road.
The charge for taking electronic devices is 30 cents per pound, a 10-cent-per-pound reduction in fees from last year’s event.
