The Haines Animal Rescue Kennel (HARK) is very appreciative of the recent donation of chain link fence that was behind the Thunderbird Motel. There are numbers of people who deserve our deepest thanks. They are: the “Uglys,” who volunteered to take the fence down in the rain; Haines Assisted Living (HAL), who gave us permission to re-use it; Beth MacCready, who arranged the gift to us through HAL; and Debra Schnabel who thought of the idea in the first place. The fence will be used as part of a roofed outdoor kennel so we can let our occasional “escape artist” dogs outside without worry.

We also want to thank Girls on the Run who arranged a fundraiser and donated the proceeds to HARK. Your donation will allow us to purchase a full year’s supply of dog treats for one dog. That is one lucky dog; and we are one lucky animal rescue shelter. Thanks so much for thinking of us.
