The Haines Dolphins swim team combined to swim 3,542 lengths of the pool in the annual Swim-a-Thon fundraiser.
The 23 participants swam a total of more than 50 miles and raised $14,892, just under the $15,000 goal, said coordinator Sarah Posey.
“This is amazing when looked at per capita,” she said.
The Dolphins tallied almost $650 per swimmer, trouncing last year’s record-setting average of $462, when 43 swimmers collected about $20,000.
