The Haines Animal Rescue Kennel is organizing “Pooper Troopers” to participate in an upcoming community cleanup.
HARK executive director Steve Vick said volunteers will target several areas of town frequented by dogs, including Third Avenue near the public library, Second Avenue and Tlingit Park, Main Street, the Haines Highway by the post office, and the Port Chilkoot Dock. A date is pending.
HARK will provide garbage bags but volunteers should bring a shovel, work gloves and a five-gallon bucket, Vick said. For more information, call HARK at 766-3334.
