A person reported a former lover had broken into their house downtown. An officer responded and advised the person to seek a protective order.

A state trooper responded to a domestic dispute at 26 Mile Haines Highway. A mother and son had an argument but calmed down after the call.

A person reported seeing a man lying in a boat floating down the river at 16 Mile Haines Highway and was concerned the person might have been hurt or passed out. A state trooper responded and located the man, who reported he was sleeping in his boat a few minutes prior to the trooper’s arrival.

A caller reported artifacts had been taken from the cemetery near 4 Mile Haines Highway. An officer responded and initiated a case.

Saturday, May 14

A person requested assistance at a bar due to a disturbance outside among four people. An officer responded and separated the individuals, who had gotten into an argument. No charges were filed.

A person reported a rock slide at 8.5 Mile Haines Highway and said the northbound lane was blocked. A state road crew responded.

A caller reported a motor home parked in a traffic lane on Fourth Avenue. An officer responded and left a note for the owners on where they could park legally.

A person reported someone did not come back and pay their fee at the landfill. An officer responded and contacted the individual who had left the area. The person said he would return on Monday to pay the fee.

A caller reported a men’s room wall at Tlingit Park had been kicked down. Public works responded.

Friday, May 13

A caller reported hearing noises in their house on Young Road and said the noises stopped after police were called. Officers made extra patrols around the area during the night.

A caller reported a rabbit that appeared to be tame on FAA Road. Haines Animal Rescue Kennel was advised.

A caller reported a hit-and-run accident on Small Tracts Road. A person backed a trailer out and scraped another vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Thursday, May 12

A person reported a truck had been vandalized at the boat harbor. An officer responded and initiated a case.

An officer spotted an illegal burn a few miles out of town on the Haines Highway. The officer contacted and cited the individual for burning materials after 8 p.m.

A caller reported a family member had used their credit card without permission.

Tuesday, May 10

A resident on Small Tracts Road reported hearing gun shots. An officer drove around the area and didn’t locate the source of the noise.

There were 15 medical calls and two calls about dogs.
