    An officer who responded to call about a large fire on Young Road found a campfire that was under control.

    A caller reported an out-of-control person at their house. An officer responded and provided transport home for the person, who later went to Juneau for alcohol treatment. A caller requested a welfare check on the same individual for heavy drinking on April 23.

    A caller reported a possible abandoned vehicle at a residence. An officer was to contact the owner to move the vehicle or get it towed.

    A caller requested a welfare check on a family member after not hearing from them for several days. An officer located the person at home in good health.

Sunday, April 24

    An intoxicated man came to the police station to say he didn’t know where he was staying. An officer helped the man find his room at a local bed and breakfast.

    A person reported some fishermen were seen with 24 Dolly Varden next to them on the Chilkat River, above the limit of 10 per day in possession. State troopers were advised, but the fishermen weren’t found.

Saturday, April 23

    A caller reported a motorized bike being ridden on a sidewalk. An officer did not locate the bike.

    A caller reported hearing a loud boom and then having sporadic power at their downtown apartment complex. Alaska Power and Telephone was advised and determined a squirrel on the wire caused electrical problems.

Friday, April 22

    A caller reported a person appeared to be passed out on the sidewalk outside a downtown bar. An officer took the person home.

Thursday, April 21

    A caller reported loud voices outside the window of their Fourth Avenue apartment around 3 a.m. An officer who found two people outside reported they were not loud, but asked them to keep their voices down.

    A caller reported a vehicle speeding in the school zone. An officer was advised but did not locate the vehicle.

    A caller reported that the tags on a vehicle had expired. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

Wednesday, April 20

    A caller requested help in finding a place to stay. The ministerial association was advised.

    A suspicious vehicle was reported behind a local business downtown after it had closed. An officer responded, but the vehicle was gone.

Tuesday, April 19

    A caller reported a driver swerving all over the highway on the way into town. An officer responded and didn’t locate the vehicle until after it was parked. No charges were filed.

    A case was initiated after a caller reported returning home from work and finding their vehicle had been taken without permission near Fort Seward. The vehicle is part of a property dispute.

    A caller reported a suspicious person at the post office. An officer responded, but the person had left.

    A person came in to report oil taken from their fuel tank on Young Road. An officer initiated a case.

    There were 20 medical calls and two calls about dogs.
