The Salvation Army would like to thank the community of Haines for helping make the holidays possible for a lot of people. We would like to specifically thank Howsers, Oleruds’ and the Visitor’s Center for their partnership in our Angel Tree gift program and a great donation of toys from the Uglies of Haines which helped us provide gifts for 24 children this Christmas. Also a big thanks to the folks over at Howsers for their help in providing food, discounted or donated, which helped provide a Christmas dinner to 45 families and individuals. We were blessed by the support shown by the Haines School with their food drive as well as the food donation boxes at Howsers and Mountain Market to help support our Food Bank and Christmas meals. A big thanks also to The Christian Women’s Fellowship, The Episcopal Church and the volunteers who stood at our kettle for the kind support that they have shown. The Salvation Army wouldn’t be able to provide any services without the help and support of our community. Most of all we would like to thank all of the people of Haines who volunteered, partnered and contributed their time, talents and treasures this holiday season.
