Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Bobbi Figdor Early Childhood Education Award – Victoria Moore and Pete Dohrn. Pete was recognized for his dedication to HeadStart children through his creation of a magical playground for them. Victoria was recognized for her extraordinary effort as a parent in helping her child overcome development challenges.
Thank you to Kim Phillips for organizing the nominations as well as the selection committee and to Suzanne Vuillet-Smith and Karen Bryant for helping to make the awards ceremony a successful event again this year.
This is the sixth year of the award, which honors parents, providers and others in the community who have done exceptional work in advocating for the needs of young children and working to improve their lives. It’s gratifying to see that there is no end to the number of people in this community who are deserving of recognition for their work in this area. Bobbi would have been thrilled to see the impact that each of these past and present winners has had on the education of young children in our community.
