A caller reported a hit-and-run accident within the last three days. The caller estimated $800 damage to the rear bumper of a vehicle that was parked at an FAA Road residence. The case is under investigation.

A downtown bar requested help with a potential fight. Two officers responded and there was no further altercation.

An officer was advised of a speeding tractor in the Fort Seward area.

A caller reported several drunks in a motel room at 1 Mile Haines Highway. An officer responded and took a man into custody for disorderly conduct after the man refused to leave.

An officer found housing for a man who had been without a place to stay for the night.

A downtown business reported a person left without paying their bill.

A caller reported a bear walking with a limp at the Chilkoot River.

Friday, Oct. 14

Officers arrested a male for failing to appear in court. He was released because his arrest warrant dated back to 2000.

A state trooper arrested a Canadian man at the U.S. border station for driving while intoxicated.

A caller reported an assault after a man head-butted a woman aboard a ferry. Officers responded and arrested the man.

Thursday, Oct. 13

A caller reported a bear carcass on the beach at 20 Mile Haines Highway.

A caller reported a suspicious person walking on the beach in the Lutak area with a gun. An officer responded and found no violation. The person was using the gun for hunting.

A caller reported a civil matter with executors of an estate entering a Front Street residence and forcing an eviction notice.

Tuesday, Oct. 11

A caller requested information on how to deal with a possible stalker who had been following them around town. An officer spoke to the suspect.

There were 18 medical calls and two calls about dogs.

Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the Piedad area. An officer responded and found nothing suspicious.
