On behalf of the Haines Emblem Club #463, and the Alaska State Association of Emblem Clubs, I want to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the “Pink Ribbon Quilt” Raffle. As state president at the time this raffle began, my special project was Pink Ribbon Days, a breast cancer organization in Anchorage. This organization provides funds and resources to breast cancer patients and families in Alaska. Every patient who is diagnosed with breast cancer in our state receives a “Comfort Bag” from PRD. These bags cost approximately $75 each. Each year, PRD puts together 400 bags. This year, thanks to all the supporters of this raffle, they will be able to make 200 more!
Thank you Kathy Warner, Jenny Lyn Smith, Janice Horton, Becky Nash, and all the quilters that helped to make this “Beautiful Quilt.” You did a wonderful job. Thank you to First National Bank for displaying the quilt and selling tickets.
Congratulations to Rama Flyum Crauthers of Homer Emblem Club #350. She won the quilt. Congratulations to Jan Hill who won the $200 cash second prize. Thank you all for supporting this very worthy organization.
