The Haines Chamber of Commerce will kick off its “Think Haines First” campaign Friday.
“Think Haines First” will encourage residents to “shop at home” throughout April, but Ned Rozbicki, chamber president, said he hopes the effort will have a more lasting impact.
One way of showing support for the promotion is to purchase a $2 pin with the “Think Haines First” logo. Pins are available at the chamber office in the Gateway Building.
“We’re hoping you will purchase these pins for all of your employees and request they wear the pins for the entire month of April,” Rozbicki said in an e-mail announcement. “Beyond that is optional, but our goal is to make these pins ubiquitous for the launch month so that the public sees ‘Think Haines First’ pins wherever they go.”
A third part of “Think Haines First” will be 40 comment buckets displayed throughout town, to collect feedback forms commenting on service at local businesses.
“We feel it’s important to reach out to the community to let them know that local businesses are willing to work with them to help make it easier and more pleasant to shop at home,” Rozbicki said.
